BatteryPilot

Privacy Policy

Last updated: 17 June 2026

BatteryPilot (“the app”, “we”) is designed to collect as little personal data as possible. This policy explains what we collect, why, and your choices.

Who we are

BatteryPilot is operated by Gijs Broekstra, the Netherlands.
Contact: gijsbroekstra@icloud.com

What we collect and why

DataWhenWhyStored where
Apple ID identifier (an opaque user ID) When you sign in with Apple To link your account and your ranking entry Apple Keychain on your device; CloudKit
Your name When you sign in with Apple (you can edit/hide it) Shown on the public leaderboard Device Keychain; CloudKit public database
Email address (often a private relay address) If you share it at sign-in Account identification only — never shared or emailed Device Keychain; not sent to our servers
Battery Score & chosen display name When ranking is enabled To show your position on the leaderboard CloudKit public database
Subscription status When you subscribe (Apple or web) To unlock premium features Apple; our backend (web purchases)

Stays on your device

Battery level, charging state, Low Power Mode, thermal state and the on-device history used for predictions never leave your device. Per-app “consumers” and AI insights are on-device estimates — iOS does not expose exact per-app data.

What we do NOT do

The public leaderboard

If you sign in and use ranking, your display name and Battery Score are visible to other users via Apple’s CloudKit public database. You can avoid this by using the app without signing in (“Continue without an account”) — your ranking then stays a local estimate.

Third parties

Data retention & your rights

Children

BatteryPilot is not directed at children under 13 and does not knowingly collect their data.

Changes

We will update this policy here and revise the date above when it changes.
